"The official opener on Thursday night, lighter than most fest fare, is the British bar mitzvah comedy "Sixty Six." And female Jewish comedians light up the Feb. 17 closer, "Making Trouble."

The JFF is a $600,000 show, screening mostly at the AMC La Jolla 12 but now branching out around the city and out to Poway. Last year, it pulled 20,000 people, sparking interest well beyond the Jewish community."
